Program Overview

The Interior Design Undergraduate Program at Istanbul Aydın University integrates theoretical knowledge, design studio practice, and technical coursework within a learning outcomes-based framework. The program aims to equip students with competencies in spatial analysis and synthesis, and in evaluating user needs according to technical, functional, and environmental criteria.

Within the program, students develop skills in:

  1. Defining design problems and generating alternative solutions,
  2. Representing design processes across multiple scales,
  3. Effectively using digital design and visualization tools.

The curriculum follows a progressive structure, advancing from fundamental design principles to complex building typologies:

  1. Design and Implementation: Studio projects ranging from residential to public spaces
  2. Technology and Visualization: CAD-based drawing, three-dimensional modeling, and digital design tools
  3. Theoretical and Social Depth: Courses on interior design history, universal design, and spatial theory
  4. Professional Competence: Professional ethics, construction economics, and mandatory internships
