General Informations

Our Department of Accounting and Financial Management has been operating since 2007 with the aim of educating professionals who document, record, report, and analyze all financial transactions of a business. Our goal is to ensure that our graduates possess the knowledge and skills to carry out the financial and financial transactions of both public and private sector enterprises in accordance with national and international regulations. With this aim and goal in mind, during the 4-year education period, our students first take basic courses in economics, business, mathematics, law, and statistics, followed by courses related to accounting and finance. In the third year, students take faculty elective courses from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences' shared pool, and in the fourth year, they select university elective courses based on their interests and personal development. Additionally, in the final year, we organize "Workshop" courses where students attend seminars or practical courses with field experts, and various institutional visits are arranged for them. At the end of their studies, students who pass the "Certified Public Accountant" exam and complete the required internship period can earn the title of a professional. If they meet the necessary requirements, they may also become "Sworn Financial Advisors." Students who succeed in the "Independent Auditing" exam conducted by the Public Oversight Authority can work as "Independent Auditors," responsible for confirming the accuracy and reliability of a company's financial transactions on behalf of third parties. Additionally, graduates can work as specialists in public institutions such as the Ministry of Finance, Undersecretariat of Treasury, Court of Accounts, Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), and the Capital Markets Board (CMB). Students who wish to pursue an academic career can continue their studies in the "Accounting and Auditing" master's program and later the "Accounting and Auditing" PhD program under the Institute of Social Sciences. In our Department of Accounting and Financial Management, the majority of the courses are taught in Turkish, but students who wish can attend a one-year foreign language preparatory
