Infrastructure & Facilities

Our Audiology Laboratory is established on a total area of 250 square meters and is equipped with the necessary infrastructure to allow students to perform practical training comfortably. The laboratory is fully suitable for education and training in terms of its device and equipment capacity. It includes hearing test batteries, electrophysiological test batteries, balance test batteries, an earmold room, and hearing aid fitting and simulation rooms. The laboratory is designed in accordance with course learning outcomes and provides easy access for students to conduct practical classes and project studies.

The Audiology Laboratory is equipped with modern and advanced technological systems that enable the diagnosis, prevention, and habilitative/rehabilitative management of all types of hearing and balance disorders across all age groups, including appropriate device selection and fitting. During clinical practice and laboratory courses, students have the opportunity to become familiar with audiological equipment and to perform one-to-one hands-on applications on patients under the supervision of mentors. In addition to theoretical education, students gain practical experience in a real laboratory environment using advanced technologies, allowing them to enter their professional careers with strong clinical competence upon graduation.

The Department of Audiology has three main laboratories and four separate rooms:

G5101 Audiovestibular Laboratory

• In the Audiometer Test Room, the following assessments are performed: Audiometric tests (pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, free-field audiometry, play audiometry, and visual reinforcement audiometry), tinnitus pitch matching and tinnitus loudness matching tests, and central auditory processing tests. The laboratory includes a double-walled, double-room soundproof booth compliant with ANSI standards and suitable in size for pediatric audiology.

• In the Electrophysiological Test Room, the following tests are conducted: Acoustic immittance tests (tympanometry, acoustic reflex test, Eustachian tube function test, reflex decay test), otoacoustic

emission tests, Auditory Brainstem Responses (ABR), and Middle Latency (MLR) and Late Latency (ALR) responses.

• In the Auditory Rehabilitation Test Room, auditory rehabilitation practices are carried out.

• In the V-HIT / VNG Posturography Test Room, static posturography, VNG, caloric testing, and V-HIT are performed.

G5102 Hearing Aids and Auditory Implants Simulation Laboratory
