SciVal is a research analytics and benchmarking platform developed by Elsevier. It uses publication and citation data from the Scopus database to analyze the performance of institutions, research groups, and individual researchers. What can you do with SciVal?
Monitor your research performance: You can track your own performance and the output of your unit (department/faculty/institute) using indicators such as publication count, citation count, h-index, and Field-Weighted Citation Impact (FWCI).

Accessing SciVal at Istanbul Aydin University
On-campus access: You may access SciVal via the SciVal link available under Electronic Resources / Databases on the Library website.
Off-campus access: After logging in through the Library’s remote access (proxy/VPN) guidelines, you can use the same SciVal link to access the platform.
Sign-in: SciVal works with an Elsevier account. If you already have an account for Scopus/ScienceDirect, you can log in using the same credentials. Using your institutional email address is recommended.
Quick start (get going in 5 minutes)
Log in to SciVal.
From the top menu, select the module that fits your purpose (Overview/Benchmarking/Collaboration/Trends).
Use the search field on the left to select “Istanbul Aydin University” as the institution, or select a researcher name.
Set the time window (e.g., last 5 years).
Review the metrics you need (FWCI, citations, publications, collaboration rates, etc.) and export reports/outputs if required.
Notes (for interpreting the data)
SciVal results are limited to Scopus coverage; publications not indexed in Scopus may not appear in the analyses.
For researcher-level analyses, accuracy depends on the correctness of your Scopus author profile (Author ID). Profile merging/cleanup may be necessary.
