As the Department of Russian Translation and Interpreting, our priority is to support you academically while helping you develop and strengthen your Russian and Turkish language skills.

In addition to improving your proficiency in Russian and Turkish, our department is committed to introducing you to the cultures of both languages, supporting your development in written and oral translation, and training qualified translators in the field of Russian translation.

The aim of the Department of Russian Translation and Interpreting is to educate translators who possess strong language awareness, perceive translation not merely as a linguistic activity but as an act of intercultural communication, master the cultural contexts of both languages, and gain knowledge of translation techniques, practices, and theories. Alongside this, students are introduced to terminology and field knowledge from various disciplines, enabling them to gain hands-on experience in written and oral translation.

Graduates of our department may pursue careers in a variety of fields, including translation agencies, publishing houses, the tourism sector, media organizations, and various public and private institutions with international connections.
