As the Department of Russian Translation and Interpreting, our primary goal is to academically support you and to develop and strengthen your Russian and Turkish language skills.

In addition to improving your proficiency in Russian and Turkish, our department aims to help you become familiar with the cultures of both languages, to support your development in written and oral translation, and to train qualified translators in the field of Russian translation.

The aim of the Department of Russian Translation and Interpreting is to educate translators who possess a strong awareness of language, perceive translation not merely as a linguistic activity but as an act of intercultural communication, are well-versed in the cultures of both languages, have solid knowledge of translation techniques, practices, and theories, and have gained practical experience in written and oral translation by becoming acquainted with the terminology and field knowledge of various disciplines.

Graduates of the department can find employment in a wide range of fields, including translation agencies, publishing houses, the tourism sector, media, and various public and private institutions with international connections.
