Admission, Recognition & Transfers

The provisions of the Istanbul Aydın University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education, Training, and Examination Regulation, published in the Official Gazette No. 32237 dated 3 July 2023, regarding inter-university transfer, vertical transfer, and double major and minor programs are as follows:

Inter-University Transfer

ARTICLE 18 –

(1) The admission and registration of students through inter-university transfer from associate degree and undergraduate programs of higher education institutions within the country, abroad, and within the University to the University's associate degree and undergraduate departments/programs shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation.

a) For a student transferring to the same department or program through inter-university transfer, the maximum period of study shall be calculated by taking into account the year in which the student was first enrolled at the higher education institution from which they are transferring.

b) For a student transferring to a different department or program through inter-university transfer, the maximum period of study shall be calculated starting from the year of enrollment at our University, without considering the period spent at the previous higher education institution.

(2) A student who transfers through inter-university or vertical transfer shall, by decision of the relevant administrative board, be exempted from courses previously taken at their former university that are deemed equivalent to the courses in the program to which they have transferred. The grades obtained in such courses shall be recorded in the transcript exactly as they are, under the designations Compulsory Transfer (TZ) or Elective Transfer (TS), and shall be included in the calculation of the cumulative grade point average (CGPA).

Double Major and Minor Programs – Purpose

ARTICLE 40 –

(1) Students who are successful in an associate degree or undergraduate program may be granted the right to continue in a second associate degree or undergraduate program. A second program in which a student is allowed to enroll in addition to their registered major program is referred to as a double major associate degree/undergraduate program or a minor program. The principles and procedures governing double major associate degree/undergraduate and minor programs shall be determined by the Senate in accordance with the relevant legislation.
