Visual communication design is a design discipline that focuses on conveying ideas, messages, and information in a meaningful, effective, and understandable way through visual media. At the core of learning in this field is design thinking, which combines creative production with critical and reflective approaches; visual elements are used deliberately to support a specific purpose and communication goal.
Visual communication design aims to train qualified designers who can effectively use technology and who can produce creative solutions by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills. In this regard, program provide students with the knowledge, methods, and tools they will need at every stage from idea formulation to production and implementation during the conceptualization, development, and management of communication projects.
The program aims to develop practical competencies through application focused courses such as three dimensional design, web design, moving image, game design, and interactive design, in addition to theoretical courses covering different areas of visual communication design. Students can also personalize their education by selecting courses in areas that align with their interests and career goals through the university and faculty level elective course pool.
The program's advanced technological infrastructure enables practical applications supported by internships, workshops, and project courses. Thus, our students gain a more robust professional practice through an educational experience closely resembling real production processes, preparing them better equipped for the industry.
The faculty lecturers focuses on software competencies aligned with current industry standards, as well as conceptual thinking, critical evaluation, and problem-solving skills that support students' long-term development. In the lessons, the development of innovative visual ideas that inform and persuade the target audience is encouraged.
Students have the opportunity to pursue double major and minor programs through many programs within the university field. Graduates, on the other hand, can find employment opportunities in public institutions and the private sector across a wide range of business lines related to visual communication within the media field. In line with the expectations of today's business world, one of our primary goals is to educate graduates who can quickly learn new systems, use digital tools and artificial intelligence technologies, and possess interdisciplinary competencies. While students make their competencies visible through their success in design competitions, graduates are also able to pursue careers in various positions within the industry.
The program's language of instruction is Turkish. There is an optional English preparatory program as well.
