The Translation and Interpreting (English) Program adopts a contemporary academic approach that considers translation not only as a transfer between languages but also as a process of intercultural communication. The program aims to provide students with advanced proficiency in English and to educate qualified translators who are competent in the terminology used in various fields such as law, media, business, logistics, publishing, and related areas.
Within the scope of the program, students undergo an intensive educational process supported by courses in translation theories and techniques as well as practical training in written and oral translation. Through interdisciplinary course content, students acquire basic knowledge in different subject areas and develop the ability to transfer this knowledge into translation practice. In addition, training in translation technologies and software strengthens students' professional competence.
One of the distinctive features of the Translation and Interpreting (English) Program is its aim to prepare students not only for translation within the English-Turkish language pair but also for translation in a second foreign language. In this respect, the program prepares its graduates as professionals with a high level of cultural awareness and practical experience who are capable of meeting the expectations of institutions and organizations operating at both national and international levels.
