Program Overview

The Public Relations and Publicity Program adopts a contemporary and industry-oriented educational approach that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills in the field of communication. Designed in line with the expectations of prospective students and stakeholders, the program aims to develop strategic thinking, critical analysis, and professional practice competencies.

Students who are admitted to the Public Relations and Publicity Department receive comprehensive training through a variety of theoretical and applied courses, enabling them to develop strategic communication campaigns by the end of their fourth year. In 2016, the İAÜ PR Workshop was established within the department. The primary objective of the İAÜ PR Workshop is to provide students with the opportunity to integrate theoretical knowledge acquired in coursework with hands-on practice, while also increasing the employability and industry preference of graduates from Istanbul Aydın University. In addition, the workshop aims to implement strategic public relations practices through collaboration between faculty members and students and to strengthen cooperation between students and industry professionals.

In a rapidly globalizing world, continuously evolving communication environments have led organizations to establish corporate communication departments in order to sustain their communication activities. Accordingly, public relations and publicity have become indispensable functions for organizations and are now among the most prominent professions of our time. In this context, the Public Relations and Publicity Program aims to educate professionals who are capable of working in public institutions, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations; who adhere to ethical values; who closely follow the digital communication ecosystem; and who can effectively manage strategic communication processes. By offering a strong academic and practice-based foundation, the program equips its graduates with the adaptability required to meet the evolving demands of the communication industry and distinguishes itself through its comprehensive educational structure.
