​In the 2025–2026 academic year, the academic staff of the Department of Sociology consists of 2 Professors, 2 Associate Professors (Assoc. Prof. Dr.), 1 Assistant Professor (Dr. Lecturer), and 1 Research Assistant. In addition, part-time academic support is provided from other units of our university and from other universities. The professors on the staff have at least 30 years of teaching and administrative experience. All faculty members contribute to the implementation and development of the curriculum.

Prof. Dr. İbrahim Hakkı AYDIN, one of our faculty members, also serves as the Rector of our University.
Prof. Dr. Hacı DURAN is the Head of the Department of Sociology and a member of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Administrative Board and Faculty Board.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökçen ÇATLI serves as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and is also the ERASMUS Coordinator of the department.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatma Nur Şengül served as the Vice Head of the Department between September 2021 and January 2024. She is one of the editors of the Aydın Journal of Human and Society published by the Department of Sociology and is the founder of the Sociology Department student club. She also assists with the administrative and technical tasks requested by the department.
Dr. Lecturer Burcu GÜDÜCÜ is the Vice Head of the Department of Sociology and also serves as the Director of the Women's Studies Research Center within our university.

In addition, all faculty members provide academic advising to both undergraduate and graduate students. Research Assistant Tuğçe CELEP TANRIVERDİ assists in carrying out the administrative affairs of the Department of Sociology.
