Accreditation

The Turkish Language and Literature Program's instructional quality standards—comprising a qualified teaching staff, a current curriculum aimed at equipping graduates with competencies required in the field, and a strong emphasis on measurable quality standards—are evaluated and monitored by the Association for the Evaluation and Accreditation of Undergraduate Programs in Faculties of Science, Literature, Science and Letters, and Language and History-Geography (FEDEK). The program submitted its initial application to FEDEK in the spring term of 2015. Following a site visit by the association in April 2016, the program was awarded a two-year accreditation certificate. Subsequently, the program underwent an interim evaluation by the FEDEK assessment commission between March 11–13, 2018, and was deemed successful, earning a three-year accreditation certificate. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the accreditation period was extended by one year in 2021. Following a site visit conducted from April 24–29, 2022, the program was again awarded a three-year accreditation certificate. Most recently, FEDEK evaluators conducted another site visit between January 10–13, 2026, and the program is currently awaiting the outcome report.
