Admission, Recognition & Transfers

Student admission procedures are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Istanbul Aydın University Regulation on Associate and Undergraduate Education, Instruction, and Examinations, published in the Official Gazette dated 29 May 2025 and numbered 32914. Articles 29, 30, and 31 of the Regulation govern student admission and registration procedures, while Article 32 regulates course registration and registration renewal processes.

Horizontal Transfer:

Admission to the Turkish Language and Literature Program at Istanbul Aydın University through horizontal (lateral) transfer is conducted as follows:

Inter-institutional horizontal transfer is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor Programs, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer, and the Directive on Horizontal Transfer for Associate and Undergraduate Programs.

Intra-institutional horizontal transfer is conducted within the framework of the Directive on Horizontal Transfer for Associate and Undergraduate Programs.

Applications for horizontal transfer are submitted through the University Information System (UBIS). Applications are evaluated by the Scientific Commission, the Department/Program Commission, and the Faculty Commission based on documents such as ÖSYM placement results, official transcripts, disciplinary status documents, course syllabi, and information on local and ECTS credits.

Credit Transfer and Recognition of Prior Learning

Courses previously completed by students admitted through horizontal transfer are reviewed by the Horizontal Transfer and Adaptation Commission, which consists of academic staff members of the department. Within this framework, the courses for which the student will receive exemptions and the courses to be completed at Istanbul Aydın University are determined. Exemption and adaptation procedures are conducted by considering the local and ECTS credits as well as course contents of previously completed courses. Outcomes are recorded in the UBIS system. In line with the Commission's decision, students are enrolled in courses in the relevant academic year and semester according to their granted exemptions. This process is conducted transparently and in full compliance with the relevant legislation, with the aim of recognizing prior learning and facilitating students' integration into the academic program.

Vertical Transfer:

Admission to the program through vertical transfer is not available.
