​The foundations of Istanbul Aydın University Faculty of Architecture and Design were laid in 2007 with the establishment of the Architecture and Interior Architecture departments under the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. In response to growing academic capacity, student demand, and interdisciplinary needs, the Faculty was restructured in 2013 and continued its academic activities under the name Faculty of Architecture and Design.

Following this transformation, the Faculty diversified its educational approach and expanded its academic scope with the introduction of the Architecture (English) and Industrial Design programs. Since its establishment, the Faculty has taken significant steps toward internationalization, quality assurance, strengthening research capacity, and enhancing collaboration with professional sectors. Today, it continues its activities as a dynamic academic unit that evolves in line with contemporary design education.
