Program Overview

The Television Reporting and Programming undergraduate program is a 4-year program consisting of 240 ECTS credits that became operational in the 2008 Fall academic year. The Television Reporting and Programming program admitted students for the first time in the 2013 fall semester and produced its first graduates in 2017.

The TV Reporting and Programming Program offers a comprehensive and contemporary educational approach aiming to prepare its students for the media sector, equipped in terms of intellectual, ethical, practical knowledge, and professional networks. The academic approach of the program focuses on integrating a strong theoretical infrastructure with practice, ensuring that students grasp the multidimensional structure of today's media world and take part effectively in this field.

While students' critical thinking skills are developed within the scope of the program, it is aimed for them to grow as media professionals based on ethical principles and with a high sense of social responsibility. Students learn not only to produce content but also to analyze and transform media within its social, cultural, and technological contexts. The professional relationships and networks established throughout the educational process provide a significant asset that supports the students' transition into the sector after graduation.

Our competent and experienced academic staff consists of expert faculty members and industry professionals who have served in the sector for many years. In addition to its strong academic structure, the program offers students advanced technical facilities. Fully equipped TV studios, an acoustic studio, editing and photography studios, and a VR laboratory allow students to practice with contemporary media technologies.

Alongside theoretical and applied courses, extracurricular application opportunities are also among the distinguishing aspects of the program. Application areas such as Atölye Aydın, Aydın IF TV, Göz Magazine, and Radio Aydın allow students to actively participate in real production processes and gain professional experience.

Through events organized under the title "THP Meets," our students come together with professionals from different fields of the media sector. Interviews and workshops held within the faculty contribute to students getting to know the sector closely and expanding their professional networks. In addition, our students are offered internship opportunities, minor and double major programs, the chance to receive education abroad for one or two semesters within the scope of international exchange programs, and opportunities to continue graduate education after graduation.

A significant portion of our department graduates work in Turkey's most prestigious media organizations. Furthermore, some of our students and graduates have been deemed worthy of Turkey's most respected professional awards, demonstrating the educational quality and sectoral visibility of our program.

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded the Bachelor's Degree (Diploma) in TELEVISION REPORTING and PROGRAMMING.
