Istanbul Aydın University aims to facilitate the widespread sharing and accessibility of scientific studies produced by its academic and administrative staff and students. In this direction, the University seeks to ensure free, easy, and rapid access to the knowledge produced; to compile academic studies at the institutional level; to store them in accordance with open access standards; to transfer them to future generations; and to make them available for broader use. Increasing the production of articles published in high-impact journals—and thereby enhancing the University’s recognition and reputation—is also among the institutional goals. This statement, which outlines our University’s commitments and policies regarding open access and the institutional academic archive, is shaped within the framework of the following principles:PRINCIPLESTransfer to the Institutional Archive: Members of Istanbul Aydın University are responsible for transferring their articles—approved for publication in an academic journal after peer review—to the Institutional Archive (in a manner that does not violate the terms of their agreements with publishers). Authors determine whether the material placed in the Institutional Archive will be made available in full text through open access, restricted to on-campus access only, or opened after a certain period.Storage in the Open Access System: Unless restricted or entirely prevented by embargoes or similar conditions, our academic staff approves the storage of the final versions of all academic works to which they contribute intellectually in the Istanbul Aydın University Open Access System. In multi-authored works, the responsibility for depositing the source rests with the corresponding author.Copyright: Metadata of copyrighted research will be archived as soon as it becomes available, and this metadata will be accessible from the moment of archiving.Licensing: Within the framework of legal conditions, our members approve storing their work in the Istanbul Aydın University Institutional Academic Archive System under a non-exclusive, irrevocable, and worldwide license agreement that does not violate the terms of their agreements with publishers.
