Istanbul Aydın University, as part of its energy and environmental management policy, adopts the understanding of a “healthy environment” and the “efficient and proper use of energy,” aiming to leave a more livable world for future generations—primarily our students—and all internal and external stakeholders. Accordingly, the University commits to implementing actions aligned with the principles below to protect natural resources, promote sustainable development, and reduce energy and water consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, natural resource use, and the amount of waste sent for recycling across all activity areas.

- Preventing Environmental Pollution: Taking proactive measures in all environmental activities to prevent air, water, and soil pollution, and ensuring continuous improvement and development.
- Compliance with Environmental and Energy Legislation and Other Requirements: Complying with national and international legal regulations in force, as well as other requirements— including standards—related to environmental aspects and obligations on energy efficiency, use, and consumption.
- Energy Performance and Environmental Sensitivity in Procurement: Supporting environmentally sensitive and energy-efficient products and processes during the procurement of goods and services.
- Raising Awareness Among Stakeholders: Developing and implementing projects aimed at raising awareness in society, starting with our students and employees.
- Energy Efficiency: Engaging in efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce the burden of energy costs on the budget.
- Reducing Investments in Carbon-Intensive Energy: Reducing investments in carbon-intensive energy industries such as coal and oil, and redirecting such investments toward more environmentally responsible areas in order to achieve sustainable environmental goals and a low carbon footprint.
- Energy Performance in Innovation, Change, and Design: Considering improvements in energy performance in innovations, designs, and changes to services, products, equipment, and processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improving the Environmental and Energy Management System and overall energy performance.
- Allocating Resources: Ensuring the availability of information and necessary resources to achieve environmental and energy objectives, targets, and management systems.
